The annual Hartford County 4-H fair will take place on Friday, August 17th through Sunday August 19th, 2018, 56 Egypt Road in Somers CT. Admission pricing is $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for seniors & children 7-12, and free for children 6 and under, all tickets are cash only. Admission is also free for Retired and Active Military with identification. Parking is free. Throughout the weekend, visitors will be entertained with 4-H livestock exhibits and shows, non-animal exhibits and demonstrations, 4-H dog show, doodlebug, antique tractor and horse pulls, live bands, children’s entertainment, craft show, food trucks, and more. 

This year’s highlights include a food truck festival on Friday August 17th from 3pm – 9pm and a Touch-a-Truck event on Saturday from 1pm – 5pm where kids will be able to view and climb in large vehicles such as tractors. This year’s fair entertainment features a local 2015 The Voice fan favorite, Braiden Sunshine on Saturday at 5pm. Additional entertainment will include Still Above Ground, performing on Friday, starting at 6:30pm, and Ashly Larosa at noon on Saturday. A craft show and antique tractor pull, starting at 9am will be held all day Saturday. A VEX Robotics competition and demonstrations will take place Saturday at 3pm. Once again at this year’s fair will be the Austin Harlow Memorial 5K road race taking place on Sunday, with registration from 7:30-8:45am and the race starting at 9am. The race will begin and end at the fairgrounds and all proceeds benefit Hartford County 4-H Fair. Runners can register for the race at the Hartford County 4-H website.
